Anchoring for Independence Day

Independence Day

“At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom.” - Jawaharlal Nehru

We the Indians celebrate Independence Day with great enthusiasm and devout feelings on 15th August, the most glorious day in the annals of Indian history. We have gathered in the school ground in presence of our chief guest honourable …………………., our Principal Sir …………………, our well-wishers, all the staff members, parents and students to mark the 75th year of independence from the British rule. A very pleasant, jubilant and exuberant morning to one and all present here.

“Ask not what your country can do for you,

Ask what you can do for your country”

A true patriot is ever ready to do anything for his country. Today we remember such martyrs, such patriots who shed their sweat and blood for our country to infuse a sense of patriotism among all the countrymen.

On this special occasion, let’s begin the programme with flag hoisting followed by National Anthem. I request our Chief Guest Mr. ……………. and our Principal ………….., to unfurl the tricolour. I also request everyone to stand in attention for the National Anthem.

Flag Hoisting and National Anthem

Now I request our Principal to address the gathering appealing to their nationalist spirit and urging them to take pride in being an Indian.

Principal’s speech

Thank you sir

Best way to pay tribute to our martyrs and patriots is to know them well, follow their footsteps and enact them.

Now, let’s witness our KG kids brimming with immense enthusiasm as they parade themselves dressed up as great revolutionaries such as Bhagat Singh, Rani Laxmi bai, Chandra Shekhar Azad, Mahatma Gandhi, Jawahar Lal Nehru and Subhash Chandra Bose.

Fancy Dress Show

That was really a cute performance. Please give them a huge round of applause.

No nation is perfect, it needs to be made perfect. Independence Day is such a big moment for all Indians to celebrate our freedom, give tribute to all the martyrs and great leaders of the country and think how we can contribute to the development of our country.

One of our friends is here with us to recall the contribution and sacrifices of great leaders. I would like to call_________ for a speech on Independence, its significance and our role in making India a progressive country, let’s welcome him/her.

Dance Performance

I’m sure everyone wished to get up from their seats and dance. Please motivate our young dancers with a thunderous applause.

Yesterday we witnessed how the students participated in various competitions such as flag making, poem composition, T- shirt painting and rangoli making. Now it’s time to award the winners of these competitions. I request our Chief Guest…………….. to come upon the stage and felicitate the winners.

I also request our honourable chief Guest to share his vision of proud and progressive India.

Indeed! these were great yoga poses by the young yoga practitioners.

Now, it’s time for the most awaited part of the program, musical extravaganza which is not only fun but will also convey beautiful message to the audience, instill patriotic sentiments among young Indians and pay tribute to the martyrs.

Our nation is like a tree of which the original trunk is Swaraj and the branches are Swadeshi and Make in India.

Let us come together and march a step forward for a better and progressive country, let's respect and follow the constitution of free India with pride and honour.

With this we close the curtains of the program. I would express my sincere thanks to our chief Guest, our Principal, guests and audience for being a part of this programme and show gratitude towards our nation. I join my hands and thank my teachers who prepared the participants for the lovely program at the end I would like to thank all the participants for putting their heart and soul to present a magnificent show.
